Dan Byl has spent his career in construction — not managing it from a distance, but doing the work, putting his name on it, and holding himself to the standard that every detail matters.
Since 2003, Dan has worked across residential, commercial, and industrial construction. That breadth of experience is what makes him effective as an expert witness. He does not just know what the code requires — he knows what it looks like when it is done right, and what it looks like when it is not.
Credentials & Training
Dan holds a Red Seal Endorsement in Carpentry — the national standard of excellence in the skilled trades across Canada. Earned through a four-level apprenticeship at Okanagan College in Kelowna, BC, it represents a comprehensive understanding of construction, building science, and the standards that govern good building practice.

A Career Built in Construction
Dan has been in construction since 2003, working across residential, commercial, and industrial projects throughout his career. He has held every position in the industry — carpenter, foreman, site supervisor, business owner, and employer.
Since 2018, as owner and operator of All In Contracting, Dan’s daily work involves evaluating existing structures, integrating new construction with established building systems, and making technical decisions about code compliance and required upgrades. He coordinates with architects, engineers, and municipal inspectors across multiple jurisdictions as a standard part of every project.
